The race for the signing of Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, continues to get intense with UK tabloid, Teamtalk, reporting that English Premier League club, Arsenal, have shown a lot of seriousness in their pursuit of the striker with the club setting aside the sum of £120m to land the Napoli man.
Chelsea recently said that Osimhen remained on top of the club’s wish list and were ready to sign the Nigerian during the January transfer window.
In a new twist, Arsenal have also entered the race for the 24-year-old as the Gunners look to sign a world-class striker.
Osimhen has been on fire over the past 18 months for Napoli.
Last season, he scored 31 goals across all competitions and helped Napoli end their drought for the Serie A title after a 33-year wait.
His impressive performances saw a host of clubs interested in his service during the summer but the Naples-based club managed to hold onto their star.
Napoli would like to extend his contract, but many top European clubs are interested in the Nigeria international, especially Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
In a bid to win the race for the Nigerian, the North London club, who are without a league title since 2004, have prepared £120m to land the striker.
Should the Nigerian go to England for the reported fee, he could break the Premier League record of £106.8m paid by Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez.
